Introduction of Apara Vidhya and Vedic Evolutionary Theory

In Sanskrit Veda Means knowledge. There are two kinds of knowledge, one is Para Vidhya and the second one is Apara Vidhya. Apara Vidhya is the empirical and objective knowledge that Makes the living and Para Vidhya is the spiritual knowledge of Sanatana Dharma(eternal law which governs life process) that Makes the life. And there’s a difference between Making the standard of living and standard of life. Para Vidhya comes from Vedas, Purans, Shrimad Bhagawat and Geeta. Apara knowledge definitely helps to Maintain the personality. But while focusing on our personality, we should not forget to become a person, a good person. And the Para knowledge is the one which Makes Man, a person, good person. So we have to understand the Para knowledge as we also persuade our Apara knowledge. When we have the combination of the two, our life would be great.

Apara Vidhya is endowed with four characteristics:

They are: Dharma, Karma, Prema and Gyana. Dharma doesn’t Mean religion.Dharma Means Nature. Everything has a definite nature. Whether living or otherwise. A sugar has a distinct dharma of being sweet, while a fire has a definite nature to be burnt.SugarÊwill cease toÊsugarÊif it ceases to beÊsweet. We don’t care the colour of sugar but its taste,we never care the taste of perfume but its fragnance, neither we care the taste and fragnance of a distemper but its colour.Everything has their own Dharma.Metals have their own dharma of being electropositive and halogans have their own dharma of gaining one electron.

Secondly, along with the characteristics of nature, there is a certain activity that is attributed to, or that comes out of every object. This activity is Karma. That Means the resulting from one’s actions. For example, if the dilute nitric acid reacts with iron, it gives one type of product whereas if the same nitric acid in very dilute form reacts with iron it gives different product. That’s Karma. Resulting depends on one’s actions.

The third characteristics is Prema which Means love. There is love in every particle of this creation. Love is attraction. From attraction, atoms come together and form Molecules from which and object is Made. If there wasn’t love, atom couldn’t form, Molecules couldn’t form. The Gravitation couldn’t exist. There is something that holds parts together. This force that brings together is called love or prema. Moreover, Love is the subtlest energy that we all live on our Vedic civilization is Mainly based on the principle of ‘love’ better known as ‘non-violence’

The fourth characteristics is Gyana. People read. Questionnaires, who is reading? Who is understanding and what is being read? There’s something in our body that is knowing but what? It is the consciousness. This knowingness is perfect and is present also in every particle of the creation. How do we know? Does anybody know through the head or only through the senses? The fact remains: our entire body has the ability to know? The Mind is not just in the head, it is all over the body. The fact remains: even in our sleep, we have an ability to know For eg:- if a group of people are asleep in a dormitory and someone comes in and calls a name, only that particular person would wake. Of course, if called loudly enough everyone will wake up but if called lightly, only the person whose name is called will hear. This ability to know is permitting our entire consciousness; it is present all over the body. This is called Gyana, the knowingness of the intelligence or the intelligence in the existence.

When somebody goes near a touch-me-not, it closes its leaves even he hasn’t touched it plants can feel, they know. Whereas regular prays songs  are sung and Meditations performed, surprisingly enough flowers in the adjoining gardens blossom faster and remain fresh for a long time. This is just the law of nature.

Vedic Evolutionary theory of Human being:

TheÊtheory of evolutionÊby natural selection, was first formulated inÊDarwin’sÊbook “On the OriginÊofÊSpecies” in 1859.Interestingly, VedaÊhas already described about evolution that occurs in organisms over time as a result of changes in heritable physical or behavioral traits. There’s a very convincing theory in Veda similar to Darwinism and Neo Darwinism. That’s the incarnation of lord Vishnu.Darwin’s theory says that the life began in the ocean and in the same way Vishnu’s first incarnation ‘Matshya’ was a fish.Darwinism says the species then began coming out of the water so says our Veda;Vishnu’s second incarnation ‘Kurma’ was an amphibian.Kurma was a tortoise. As species started coming out and exploring the land, they developed bodily features to survive both inside and outside of water. And soon, the creatures desired to travel long distances, so legs were developed.’Varaha’, the third incarnation, was a boar.

‘Narsimha’, the fourth avatar, had features of Man as well as those of a beast which indicates evolution slowly going towards homo sapiens.

Fifth incarnation was ‘Vamana’ ; the Dwarf God.Its characteristics are almost similar to Dryopithecus which are given below:

Semierect posture.

Large brain,large Muzzle,large canines.

Ate soft fruits and leaves (as he was brahmin ).

Partially an arboreal and knuckle-walker.

It was first step towards human being.

In this way, Vamana was short ape-like species which finally evolved into ‘Parshuram’ , what we call ‘early Man’.

Parshuram (early-man) had following changes upon Vamana (ape-like Man);

Chin formation took place.

Brow ridges reduced.

Curves were developed in Vertebral column for erect posture.

Narrowing and elevation of nose.

He lived in caves in the forest and Made primitive weapons from stone and wood (like an axe). This age was palaeolithic (age of tools of stones and bones)

Then came Mesolithic age (era of animal husbandry, language, reading and writing) where ‘Rama’ was born. From the word Rama comes Ramapithecus which was discovered by Edward Lewis in 1932 in the Shivalik Hills of India which was believed to be 14-15 years old.But the period of Rama is elaborated to be More advanced than Ramapithecus,Australopithecus,Homo Habilis and even Homo erectus and lesser than Modern Man.

The characteristics were:

Tooth were like that of Modern Man.

Mentally able or skillful.

Politics was first practiced during this time.

People were More civilized.

After the period of Rama, ‘Krishna’ arrived which was a Modern Man.The era of Krishna includes

1.Neolithic age (age of agriculture, knowledge and use of clothes and utensils) and

  1. Bronze age.

The people of this age are generally characterized by the lighter build of their skeletons compared to earlierÊhumans.ÊThey had very large brains, which vary in size from population to population and between Males and females, but the average size is approximately 1300 cubic centimeters.

Remaining two incarnations of lord Vishnu ;Buddha and Kalki are the legends of our age i.e. Iron age and Industrial age.In this way,Vedic Evolutionary theory beautifully explains the evolution of Human beings going equivalently with Charles Darwin’s theory. We have to reorganizes the greatness of that ancient civilization.

The Vedas can give tremendous knowledge to us; both Material and spiritual. So, we have to gain that knowledge and hence invest it to our Modern civilization. We have to restore the lost glory of Veda, Vedanta, puran, Upanishad, Jyotish, Tantra, Ayurveda, Archeology and Vastu.
